Soil developed on tuffaceous materials; reddish brown (5YR 3/2, 3/3, 3/4) to red (2.5YR 4/6, 4/8, 5/6, 5/8); heavy clay; weak to moderate, fine to medium subangular blocky; friable; deep; well drained; occurs on undulating to steep terrain; cation exchange capacity >10 cmol(+) per kg soil; low base saturation; argillic diagnostic horizon.
